Gantry Crane: Stop Control for an Emergency When Erecting

Should it occur emergency during erecting one gantry crane, a safe emergency stop control was necessary.

  

1. In most cases, main beams of gantry crane are segmented transported and assembled on the spot. After welding and piecing together, we should examine physical dimension. If there are differences between camber and cantilever, it is sensible to adjust relative figures as soon as possible.

2. It is a phenomenon frequently happening about too-long gantry crane units. Under such a situation, gantry crane can’t enter a designated place. Above all, an ideal transportation plan is needed so that we can deal with potential emergency confidently and easily. The common approach is to prepare a crane truck in advance and follow the carriage fleet. If it is difficult to make a turn, the crane truck will lift the combination trailer and over-length parts of gantry crane to veer. In the whole course, we need a motor tractor to cooperate.

3. Sometimes practical hoisting weight is over the schemed figure when main girder of gantry crane is under a test operation on installation spot. In general, there are always 2 reasons.
A. Estimated weight is in negative deviation.
B. Lifting load has been increased according to actual situation.

4. If there are angle errors about connecting flange plate of landing leg and trolley girder after finishing the installation of gantry crane, it is better to adjust it.
A. Don’t tear down each bearing or cable wind rope.
B. Cut up the attachment weld between flange plate and landing leg.
C. Solder it after finish adjusting at a right angle.
