ZZHZ Guide on How to Select the Right Overhead Crane

In order to maximize your investment and ease the buying process, ZZHZ has posted an overhead crane guide for helping you select a right crane kit.

In general, there are 4 factors to consider in proper overhead crane selection as following:

1. Single or double girder:
In fact, a girder we said is a beam that spans the end trucks to form the bridge of the crane. Although a double girder is occasionally used to gain additional headroom, for top running system with capacity ranges between 1 and 15 tons you had better adopt a single girder design. And a double girder overhead crane always owns a capacity over 15 tons, so that the loss of lifting height can be avoided.

2. Material lifting:
Identify what type of material you will handle with the crane is the first factor to consider and determining whether you are lifting a solid piece of steel or hot liquid, or if you will pick a variety of other load materials will help your crane manufacture provide an ideal solution to realize a minimize cost and maximize productivity according to your needs.

3. Top Running or Under Running:
Usually, to choose a certain type of overhead crane with a top running or under running grade is according to your factory building and the type of required crane. Top running cranes are always applied in large type or when the crane requires more net lifting height.

4. Controling Speed:
You need to have it positioned and control the speed during moving the load. Higher speed means higher cost, for example, two speed controls are more costly. However, two speed controls can help you operate the overhead crane safer, easier and faster.
